Dr Liz Leek, GP
Dr Liz is an NHS GP that found functional medicine through her combined passion for Women’s health, lifestyle medicine, scientific curiosity and her recognition of the limitations of our wonderful, yet struggling NHS. Her academic background includes a 1st class joint honours in Anatomy and Physiology, 2 Honours Prizes, and a Distinction in Medicine. She has a diploma from the Faculty of Sexual and reproductive Health and is also a member of the British Menopause Society.
A self-confessed curious perfectionist, her mind does not rest until she can understand all the nuts and bolts to a process. Dr Liz is an experienced women's health doctor, with a passion for whole-istic health care and preventative medicine. Her core belief is to use an appropriate, yet integrated approach wherever possible to effectively rectify the ‘fault’, rather than attempt to mask the issue.

Womens Health Initial Assessment.
In this 60 minute appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your health concerns fully and tell us about all aspects of your health and wellbeing. This is our opportunity to get to know you and understand all the reasons that bring you to BiOrigin.
You will be asked to complete a questionnaire before your appointment to help us gather some essential information as we do not have access to your NHS records. This helps make your initial appointment more time efficient.
We aim to be able to help you understand the cause of your symptoms and help to find the most suitable approach to resolving this with you. Our understanding of both conventional medicine, and functional medicine can give you the best of both worlds.
We may recommend specialised laboratory testing, lifestyle modifications, as well as supplements where deemed relevant or necessary. Where appropriate, hormone replacement therapy is usually prescribed after initial testing at your follow up appointment. You will be provided with a written health plan with practical tools to take away. We may also recommend working with a nutritionist and/ or health coach to get the best outcomes for you.
Your health report will be sent to you following your consultation, for your information. It is recommended that a copy of this is given to your GP, but is not an instruction to the NHS.
Please see below for the extra tests that we sometimes recommend. Further consultations will be required to review these results.
The cost of your prescription will be paid directly to the pharmacy.

“I contacted the team at the beginning of 2022 following peri-menopause symptoms. We spent time discussing my symptoms and how I felt, and then underwent testing to determine exactly what was going on from a physical and physiological point of view, before agreeing a course of action. I feel significantly better now, and really value working with a private doctor who has the time to focus on me and create a bespoke, personalised plan that gets my energy, mood and motivation back as quickly as possible.”
