5 Tips to Help You Achieve Your Health Goals

Hearing that the majority of people at this point have given up on their resolutions already?

Being told that you will feel down today and the other media stories surrounding ‘Blue Monday’ can actually help to compound the ‘sod it’ response to maintaining your resolution for a healthier 2023.

So here are her top 5 tips to help to prevent you from feeling overwhelmed and to continue to enable you to take action towards achieving your health plan and desires for the future. 

1. Be specific with your ‘goal’ (what), your ‘motive’ (why) and your ‘action steps’ (how)

Focus on your motive and create clarity on your goal and steps. Be ‘pulled’ by what you want (wellness) and not what you don’t want (illness), responsible for less empowering ‘push’ motives (e.g ‘I should).

2. Manage your energy state to increase motivation, confidence & success

Low energy is often the driver to set health goals but it can quickly trip you up. Creating a deeper awareness of what lifts and drains you (BODY, MIND & SPIRIT) is key to optimal energy management and ensuring you are not pouring from an empty cup.

3. Reduce overwhelm by focussing on the next tiny step

Life is created by infinite decisions and actions.  Action is best achieved within a structure comprising non-negotiable tiny habits that have a cumulative and synergistic health benefit.

4. Identify obstacles & plan to navigate them

Avoid self-sabotage and defaulting on health goals with an awareness of what will throw you off track.  Pre-empting hurdles creates significant breakthroughs for our health. 

5. Believe you can achieve your health goals 

Our mindset, attitudes, and beliefs create our reality. Ensure the language you use about yourself and your health is self-compassionate and empowering to fuel motivation towards sustainable health change.
